It’s a bit early to have a schedule all laid out, but what we can tell you is that the event will fill your day on the 11th of October 2014. The tentative hours of the Mega event are 10am to 5:00pm, with an optional dinner to follow. There will be satellite events in the days leading up to 3IEE, all within an hour’s drive of the event. The organizing team is currently securing the following:
A line-up of awesome guest speakers, including renowned geologists, who will describe the forces that created, and continue to create, the west coast; the animals that once lived here, the people and cultures that have been directly affected by the local geology, and the impact of current geologic events on our daily lives.
You will be able to take in all kinds of information about creating EarthCaches, the history of the EarthCache program and an opportunity to talk with EarthCache reviewers.
You’ll see amazing displays including a fossil presentation that showcases the fossil record of south western British Columbia.
There will be ample opportunity to load up on geo-gear from a selection of Geocaching vendors.
… and we’ll have a wonderful selection of local food, and if you’re wondering what to do in the evening, there are literally thousands of nearby geocaches.
